Materials and Care Tips

GOLD FILLED

14K Gold filled is made using a solid layer of 14K Gold that is bonded into another metal. The closest thing to solid gold, gold filled is more than 100 times thicker than any high quality gold plated or gold vermeil jewelry. Gold filled provides a long life and luster for your jewelry piece.

- Water and sweat resistant and Sensitive Skin Friendly!

- Avoid cosmetics, perfumes, chemicals saltwater, or any prolonged periods of wetness.

-To clean, shine with a dry cloth. Traditional gold/sterling cleaning practices are not recommend for gold filled items.

GOLD VERMEIL

Pronounced “ver-may.” Our gold vermeil is 14k gold that is at least 2.5 microns thick, layered over sterling silver. This technique provides a long lasting piece of jewelry that can be enjoyed over and over again.

- Water and sweat resistant and Sensitive Skin Friendly!

- Avoid alcohol derivatives such as hand sanitizer, cosmetics, perfumes, chemicals, saltwater, or any prolonged periods of wetness.

GOLD PLATING

Some products can have a negative reaction with gold-plating and can cause changes in color or texture.

- Remove these pieces before using hand sanitizer, showering or exercising. Avoid cosmetics, perfumes, chemicals saltwater, or any prolonged periods of wetness.

-Store in a safe, dry place when not worn.

GEMSTONES

Please remove all pieces containing a gemstone before using hand sanitizer, showering or exercising. Gold plated gemstones are plated over copper meaning that the plating will wear over time especially when exposed to the above elements.

- Energetically cleanse your gemstone pieces by holding above burning sage, palo santo, or other cleansing herbs.

- Charge your pieces by placing them near a window during a full moon or placing them on a slab of Selenite when not in use.

PEARLS

Soma Gems pearls are hand selected and are fresh water or cultured pearls. Each pearl is unique so expect some variance in your piece.

-Pearls are sensitive in nature, so avoid chemicals or excessive temperatures.
